Moldoveanu Peak (Romanian: VÃ¢rful Moldoveanu) pronouncedÂ [moldoËveÌ¯anu], Moldovan Peak), at 2,544 metres, is the highest mountain in Romania. It's located in ArgeÈ County, in the FÄgÄraÈ Mountains of the Southern Carpathians.
The most popular routes to reach Moldoveanu are over the ViÈtea Mare (2,527 m), by paths coming from Podragu, Sambata, or by the Vistea Valley.
The closest locality is Victoria, on the north side. On the south side, it is accessible from northwest of CÃ¢mpulung.
